Our Cozy Standards (How We Create + Recommend)

Bytes of Us is built on one simple idea: If it doesn't make real life easier (or more cozy), it doesn't belong here.

This page explains how we write, how we choose recommendations, and how we stay honest, especially when affiliate links are involved.

1) What we publish

We write cozy guides for:

  • Parents: nursery decor, gentle routines, baby shower gift ideas
  • Creators: Midjourney prompt recipes, printable workflows, illustration-style tutorials

We aim for content that feels like a friend beside you: clear steps, real-life context, and tiny wins.

2) The "Random Tuesday" test (our filter)

Before we recommend anything, we ask:

Will this actually help on a random Tuesday when someone is tired, busy, and needs a small win?

If it's only "cute," but not useful, we usually skip it.

3) How we choose products + links

We prioritize:

  • Practicality (used weekly, not once)
  • Calm design (soft, storybook-friendly, not clutter)
  • Quality + durability
  • Safety-forward choices (especially for baby items)
  • Clear pros AND tradeoffs (we'll tell you if something is annoying to clean)

Whenever possible, we also:

  • include budget alternatives
  • list what you can skip (because buying less is sometimes the best advice)

4) Testing + experience (no face-front, still real life)

We're parents. We write from lived experience, what we've tried in our home, what has held up, what felt worth it. Sometimes we test items directly. Sometimes we research deeply and use verified specs + parent patterns (and we say which it is).

5) Affiliate links (our promise)

Some links are affiliate links. If you click and buy, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This supports our work and keeps Bytes of Us running.

Important:

  • We do not recommend something just because it pays more.
  • We keep our style and standards first.
  • If something is sponsored or gifted, we disclose it clearly.

You can read the full plain-language version on our Affiliate Disclosure page.

6) Updates (we keep guides fresh)

Parenting products change constantly. When we update a post, we update the "Updated" date at the top and refresh links, availability, and recommendations.

7) AI + creator tools (transparency)

We share workflows using tools like Midjourney and Canva. AI outputs can vary and platform rules can change. We teach repeatable processes, but you're responsible for using tools ethically and following platform terms.

8) If we get something wrong

We want to fix it quickly. If you spot an error, broken link, or outdated info, email hi@bytesofus.com with the page URL and what you noticed.

Read our Corrections + Updates policy for details.
